Ray Johnston Addition

You can help add 40 acres to the
Ray Johnston Nature Preserve!
PROTECT 40 ACRES NEAR PICKEREL LAKE

Just south of Pickerel Lake lies the 52-acre Ray Johnston Nature Preserve (see map below). There, you will find rolling hardwoods, dispersed pines, and a neighborhood trail system totaling a mile of quiet, winding walking paths. To the southwest lies 40 acres that would greatly expand upon the existing conservation at Ray Johnston.

One of LTC’s critical priorities in land acquisition is proximity to existing preserves – concentrating our positive impact and building on wildlife corridors. When this neighboring property came up for sale for, LTC was eager to pursue it. After negotiation with the sellers, we have drafted an option to buy and protect the land for $240k. By making a gift today, you would be preserving not just 40 acres; you would be continuing to build a land legacy and protecting 93 acres in Emmet County.

PROJECT GOAL: $240,000
