iNaturalist is an online database and social media network for learning the name of that that bird that comes to your feeder or that flower along the trail that you’ve been wondering about. We’ll be introducing participants to iNaturalist, setting up accounts and exploring the many ways to use iNaturalist and participate in the community. We’ll discuss LTC’s little corner of the world and explain how you can help us out through iNaturalist. Any casual photograph taken on a preserve when submitted to iNaturalist can inform and direct the conservation of plants and animals in northern Michigan. We will explore the app and collect data on a nature preserve and just generally share in the excitement of biodiversity!
Bring a laptop computer and your smartphone or a camera for the hands-on portion of the workshop (Not required to participate). Workshop will be help in the Meeting Room at the Charlevoix Hospital. Enter the main Lakeshore Entrance and once in the door, stairs and elevator are on the right. The meeting room is one floor down and straight ahead. Go through the door and it’s immediately on the right. It’s easier to find than it sounds!
This event is FREE but registration is required due to LIMITED SPACE.
