Apple Tree Pruning Workshop

Mar 16 2024

9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Offield Family Working Forest Reserve
Quick Road, Harbor Springs

Join the Little Traverse Conservancy for a workshop focusing on the pruning and care of apple trees. Through various techniques, trees can be greatly revitalized in a manner that also supports the ecosystem and landscape around them.

Led by LTC’s Recreation Field Supervisor Nate Dionne, whose family has run an apple orchard business for many years, this workshop will feature demonstrations of pruning old and abandoned apple trees to increase their vigor, productivity, and appearance.  Participants will then have the chance to put these principles and objectives to use on the trees found at the Offield Working Forest Reserve outside of Harbor Springs.

Participants are invited to bring their own loppers/pole saws. Limited quantities of tools including pruners and pole saws will be available for use during the hands-on portion of the workshop.
