THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL! Registration is now closed.

Join Star Lore Historian Mary Stewart Adams for a snowshoe hike by the light of the waxing gibbous Moon as it meets the star Aldebaran, the Bull’s Eye in the constellation Taurus the Bull.

This gathering will occur as Mercury creeps as far west of the Sun as it can get, and Mars stands guard over the night while the Moon waxes toward its Full Wolf phase, encouraging us all to be resolute concerning the New Year! The short hike (1-2 miles with moderate hills) will be followed by guidance around the night sky and celestial highlights of the year ahead. Arrive earlier to catch the sunset!

Social distancing practices are required at this event and attendees are asked to self-screen for Covid symptoms before coming. Attendance is limited to 25 participants based on the current order by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. We will adhere to this order, so pre-registration is a must.
