Melvin Family Hiking & Biking Partner Program

Come on out to the Melvin Family Hiking and Biking Trails, for a guided hike or mountain bike ride (depending on who shows up) with Mark Melvin, who gifted the land for the trails. The Preserve has dedicated and shared trails for both activities and are well marked for both activities. We will meet at 10 AM on June 26th at 3151 Bennett Rd., Topinabee and have a quick talk about the property and the highlights for both activities. There are trails for all skill levels of both hiking and mountain biking, with jumps and other fun features for the mountain biking enthusiasts. There is a new lookout (toward Mullet Lake) that should be complete and accessible to both hikers and bikers. The pavilion should also be completed providing a place for a nice picnic afterwards or just a place to chill and relax. There is a changing room and bike repair station, as well as a pump and porta-potty available. Come out and explore one of the new and exciting Little Traverse Conservancy Preserves just minutes from Indian River.
