Environmental Education

fostering appreciation and understanding of the environment

Education for our future

For more than 30 years, the Conservancy has offered free programs and activities to foster a greater understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of the natural environment.

Students can learn with us all year long through school field trips, weekend programs, and summer programs on Conservancy lands.

Each year we present programs to more than 4,500 children from nearly 300 school groups to help them appreciate nature and learn about the outdoors in the outdoors. In addition to the students, hundreds of parents and teachers attended and assisted with the activities. Conservancy members (those who donate $1 or more each year) make these great programs possible.

Emmet County schools can seek reimbursement for busing costs through the Petoskey-Harbor Springs Area Community Foundation. For more information, please call (231) 348-5820.

Schools within all other counties of LTC’s service area (Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Mackinac, and Chippewa) can receive a $50 reimbursement for busing costs through a special fund held with the Conservancy.
