Preserve Clean Up Work Bee
Richard and Sadie Bartosik Nature Preserve
Saturday, August 2, 2025
10am – 12pm
We need your help to restore an old barn site to a safe and scenic place for visitors – humans and wildlife alike. We will be cleaning up debris left from a barn (which was removed) and filling up the dump trailer with trash bags. Bring the kids and enable them to feel pride in their work. All ages are welcome to help for as long as they can, even if it’s just an hour. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. We will provide work gloves and snacks.
This preserve just south of Charlevoix along US31 is a peaceful place, but will be made more welcoming with a clean place to park, explore, and enjoy the views. It is home to active hay fields, northern forestland, and a wetland. Just along the highway in Norwood, it’s a great spot for migratory bird watching and enjoying the views of drumlins formed by retreating glaciers.
If you plan to come, please complete the volunteer waiver. Please RSVP if you can, or just come join us if you are unable to commit just yet.
