Forest school program
how does forest school work?
A new spin on LTC education is Forest School. It is run as theme-by-grade programming, ideally with the whole school. LTC education staff will visit your classes once a month to talk about a new topic within the theme your grade has been given. These topics range from mammals to wilderness survival and everything in between. Forest School can be morphed to fit your school or classroom so that teachers and LTC educators create content that will elevate your classes’ experiences with the outdoors.
For almost 40 years, these programs have been integrated into the school curriculum and used to complement the work that is happening in the classroom. Little Traverse Conservancy seeks to continually ensure that the programs match the current Michigan curriculum standards.
