Offield Working Forest Reserve

NOTE: Meeting at Hedrick Road Parking Area. Celebrate Earth Day on a Saturday! The 2025 Icepocalypse did severe damage to the forests at Offield Family Working Forest Reserve. Especially in the pine plantations, having all that dead wood lying around creates a major risk for pine bark beetles to have a population explosion. To prevent this, LTC had the trees that would have died anyway harvested as timber. Now it is time to replant the forest. The goal was never to have a pine plantation there forever, and this event moves up our timeline. We will be planting the stand along Hathaway Rd, so park at this location:
