Wild Wednesday: Black Bear Ecology

Join LTC environmental education staff at the Charlevoix Public Library for an evening with one of northern Michigan’s most iconic and least often seen mammals. By November, black bears are moving toward their dens and their bodies are running through a remarkable physiological transformation. We’ll follow a bear’s year from spring emergence through the frenzied hyperphagia of fall, exploring how they read and move through the same forests, wetlands, and ridgelines that define the landscape LTC works to protect.
