Land Description
Just a few miles from downtown Petoskey, this preserve offers a short trail system and a natural oasis for exploration. Enjoy a mix of mature upland hardwood forest and a swampy corridor with a small stream while searching for the natural springs. A mix of wetlands, uplands, and shoreline, this property provides a natural buffer in a positively developing region near town.
Trail Description
There is a small parking area, and a short trail leads towards the preserve's springs portion.
History
The Bubbling Springs Nature Preserve was donated in 2008 by Jay and Clem O’Neil. In 2021, the 5-acre Robinson Family Honoring Gold Star Families Nature Preserve was created. The main parking area for the complex now lies on the Robinson Preserve.
Directions
ADDRESS: 2381 Intertown Road, Petoskey From the intersection of US-31 and US-131 in Petoskey, travel south on US-131 1½ miles to Intertown Rd. Turn right (west) on Intertown and travel 1.1 miles to the preserve on the left side of the road.
