One of the few public access locations to Walloon Lake
Trail & Facilities Description
This universally accessible park features a covered pavilion, restrooms, picnic area, playground, boat launch, a sandy beach, and restroom facilities. To protect the lake, stormwater runoff is controlled by the use of permeable pavers and the construction of bio-swales to retain and treat water runoff.
LTC worked with Bear Creek Township to secure a grant from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund enabling the purchase of this land in 2008 and its subsequent development. The township now owns and manages this park.
From Petoskey, take US-131 south to Gruler Road. Turn right (west) and follow to park entrance.
