Current 2026 Priorities

OFFIELD FAMILY TRAIL IMPROVEMENT - $5,000

Harbor Springs, Emmet County

Totaling 390 acres and nearly 4.5 miles of trails, the Offield Family Working Forest Reserve is one of our most visited trail systems! You can help improve the trails with a gift to support this trail restoration plan. Think about making the trail more even and predictable. These enhancements will increase safety, accessibility, and long-term sustainability while preserving the natural beauty and recreational value of this cherished community resource.

Pellston Community Trail Project - $55,000

Pellston, Emmet County

Create a community trail system and universally accessible trail at a new nature preserve located in the Village of Pellston. This trail will provide year-round outdoor recreation, connect neighborhoods to the school with a barrier-free, universally accessible path, improve the land’s ecological health, and provide a space for hands-on environmental youth education.

Kayak Dock Extension at Duck Bay - $15,000

Les Cheneaux, Mackinac County

Help create a better way to experience Duck Bay on Marquette Island by water and trail with an improved extension for kayakers at the township-owned dock at Duck Bay. Improvements to the existing public dock will provide safe kayak access, making it easier for paddlers to come ashore and explore nearby Little Traverse Conservancy trails. This project expands opportunities for non-motorized recreation, strengthens community partnerships, and connects more people to the natural beauty of northern Michigan.

Aldo Leopold Additional Boardwalk - $2,500

Les Cheneaux, Mackinac County

Support the completion of the boardwalk project at the Aldo Leopold Nature Preserve on Marquette Island, creating safer, more sustainable access through one of our largest preserve complexes, encompassing 2,085 acres and over four miles of trail.

Woollam Family Protection Project - $6,000

Cross Village, Emmet County

Help keep the precious ecosystem and species at the Woollam Family Nature Preserve safe and better protected with trail improvements, fencing, and signage.
