Do you want to get outside and for a good cause? Do you love the northern Michigan forests and wildflowers in spring? Join us to protect the forest floor from invaders!
This preserve ranked as one of our highest quality natural areas, and we’d like to prevent any more degradation! The powerline cut and a few other areas have been infiltrated with garlic mustard from surrounding homes, so we will remove it by hand pulling. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather, bring water, sturdy shoes, and be prepared to kneel and pull plants by hand. Bring a lunch if you plan to stay all day. Otherwise, come for as long as you can. All help is appreciated! Of course, planning this far in advance means that if there is a thunderstorm or other bad weather we’ll need to reschedule, so make sure you register.
