History

In 2021, this preserve was purchased and protected by Liesel and Hank Meijer in memory of Liesel and Gow Litzenburger’s father, and one of LTC's original founders, Seberon “Boo” Litzenburger. With a deep love and appreciation of northern Michigan, Boo dedicated his life to advocating for the protection of its land and water. His vision was for northern Michigan to be enjoyed by all and protected forever. When you walk these trails, take in the view from the platform, and listen to the creek as you cross the bridge, you will feel why Boo called this region "the most beautiful place in the world."
