This is a very nice reserve with a mixture of open meadows, agricultural fields, and a forest with some rare plants, but old logging roads are acting as a vector for invasive garlic mustard, so we will be pulling it out by hand. It’s a fun place to hunt for mushrooms in the spring and has great views this time of year at the top of the hill. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather, bring water, sturdy shoes, and be prepared to kneel and pull plants by hand. Bring a lunch if you plan to stay all day. Otherwise, come for as long as you can, but please don’t come late, as we will be hiking about a half-mile to the work site and we can’t come get you. Of course, planning this far in advance means if there is a thunderstorm or other bad weather we’ll need to reschedule, so make sure you register.
